Students could not only learn through classes but they could also join campus organizations to dive into their passionate field of expertise. Adhitya Darmawan, an alumnus of the Communication Science Study Program at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), was among the students who learn through organizations and is currently pursuing his longingly desired career as a Head of Content Writer.

Adhit is currently a part of the Marketing Communication Division at a company serving as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) called Gmedia. As an employee at a company that prioritizes services, he always listens to the customers’ needs and complaints. Additionally, he was once granted the opportunity to be the team lead project at a Mobile Legends Tournament. “In addition to giving our best services, we also often host national events, which act as an accomplishment for me,” he explained.

Adhit, an alumnus of the 2015 cohort, has been walking his career since high school; at that time, he worked as a guest host in a youth program at a private television company. “I also became a radio announcer from when I was a senior in high school until I graduated from college. During my study at Udinus, I joined the Student Executives (BEM-KM) and other communities,” he said.

His desire to continue his studies in the Department of Communication Science at Udinus had been burning inside him since he was in high school. That was because of the fact that he was passionate in the Communication Science field. “In the Department of Communication Science, I chose the broadcasting section as there is a lot to learn and implement in Industry such as public speaking. This skill could be applied by hosts at various events,” Adhit revealed.

According to Adhit, pursuing passionate career paths was not impossible. Then, he also encouraged students to be active in organizations or communities to gain knowledge of the fields they were passionate about. Moreover, Adhit further added that students should participate in beneficial activities to gather insight regarding their future career paths. “Do not be hesitant to learn new things, so that we could set higher goals upon reaching the previous goals,” he concluded.
