Diving into the broadcasting industry requires one to master many fields of expertise at once including producing a TV program, writing a concept and script, and technical aspects such as photo shooting and lighting setup.

Dhyanara Novi Paramita, an alumna of the Diploma Broadcasting and Undergraduate Communication Science Study Programs at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), is currently making her way into the broadcasting industry as a TV presenter, scriptwriter, and voice actress.

Acting as a master of ceremony, moderator, and speaker at seminars, and various events relating to journalism is her daily job. She does all of that because she is well-experienced as a presenter, reporter, and producer in a private television company.

Dhyanara also regularly uploads her creative works on various social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, and blog. Her works mainly consist of handwriting and videos on her blog known as KataDhyanara and DhyanaraVideo in which she also offers videography services in the form of after-movie videos, company profiles, and advertisements. Her dedication in the field of videography led her to form her own team to help her in video creation.

During her time as a college student, she gained much knowledge including controlling herself in front of the camera, acting as a behind-the-scene conceptor, and programming TV shows.

Despite being busy, she claimed that she had not shown her maximum job performance in every project she worked on. There is still plenty of room for her to learn.

Dhyanara revealed that she did not offer her service to anyone. Instead, job offers normally come to her on their own. According to her, communicating and maintaining healthy relationships with other people are the keys to success. “Fortunes come in a mysterious way. It could even come from an acquaintance giving you a job to work with,” she shared.

Moreover, proper usage of social media could also help self-branding unintentionally. Dhyanara further shared that social media could market her skills particularly by consistently uploading stories, engaging in direct messages (DM) and comment sections, and conveying her opinion, so that other people could know what she is working on. “From there, companies could oversee your social media account,” she added.

Dhyanara stated that working in the broadcasting industry was not an easy quest to undertake. This is because of the fact that she carries a big responsibility in giving accurate data. “That is why you need to possess determination and clear goals to enter the broadcasting industry,” Dhyanara concluded.
