Initially, becoming a programmer was not his primary goal. However, Ronald Alviando managed to be appointed as a programmer at Alfamart through his diligent nature and talent on campus.

Upon being appointed, Ronald, born on August 14, 1993, currently works as an Administrator App Programmer Analyst at ‘Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk Ltd,’ and stated that he had adapted to his job as being a programmer requires constant training to keep up with changes of this field. “The scope of becoming a programmer and the realm of Information Technology is limitless, as there will always be innovations coming from this field annually so there will always be something to explore in this field,” Ronald, an alumnus of the Informatics Study Program at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), explained.

Ronald shared that Basic Programming was a course every programmer should pay attention to. This is because this course taught him a thing or two regarding the logic behind programming.

After all these years of being a programmer, Ronald has encountered a problem mainly regarding managing big data. “Moreover, the data is related to the company’s financial condition; thus, it takes a high level of focus and carefulness to do so,” he explained.

Not only did he gather academical skills on campus, but he also gathered many non-academical ones through his experience as the President of Student Executives at Udinus. This experience allowed him to enhance his communication skills, which to this day is still implemented by him for company meeting purposes.

Ronald revealed that embarking on his journey in the IT industry was not as fearsome as he had expected. But instead, working in this field of expertise could induce his interest in programming.

“Do not be afraid. Coding is not as horrible as you might think; however, it is still essential to diligently study and browse the internet to gain knowledge,” he concluded, (Humas/Almira. Foto: Dok. Pribadi)
