Daring to take a step ahead and explore new things serves as a motivation for Deborah Ellen Sandra to be an E-Sports Ambassador. Ellen, an Undergraduate Information System Student at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), has undergone a contract agreement with E-Sports at Udinus and the Indonesian eSports Association (IESPA) of Central Java.

Ellen claimed that she had been interested in E-Sports since middle school. Then, as a college freshman, she began to be intrigued by Udinus for its E-Sports program. “Upon becoming a freshman, I met a senior who introduced me to the Dota 2 team of Udinus. Not long after, I got the offer to be a volunteer in an E-Sports event,” she revealed.

After several times of becoming a volunteer, Ellen, a native of Batam, was also once a manager of a Dota team and documented the moments during the tournament. From those documented moments, she was offered to be the Brand Ambassador of E-Sports at Udinus in the Indonesian E-Sports League (IEL) event. “At that time, I was offered by the Head of the Indonesia E-Sports League (IEL) to be the Brand Ambassador Representative of Udinus at the IEL League. Then after several days, I, who at that time was with the Dota team of Udinus, was officially appointed as the Brand Ambassador of Udinus representing the campus at the IEL League,” Ellen shared.

Not only that, but Ellen also got the offer to be the Brand Ambassador of IESPA, which would later be approved by the Head of IESPA and she currently is a part of the IESPA team of Central Java. There were also several official events Ellen participated in including the 2019 Season 2 of IEL, the IEL Star Charity Tournament, and the 2020 Smartfren Qualification. “As a Brand Ambassador, I am obliged to attract the public by promoting the currently ongoing official events on social media. Attending and organizing events are also burdens I have to carry,” she explained.

An ambassador must possess a heart of steel to receive feedback and criticism from others. Furthermore, allocating our time properly and mannerisms is also crucial. “There are several things I am fond of in this field namely being able to extend my relations and meet other famous game influencers.
