Rachel Patricia Bledoeg, an Undergraduate Communication Science student at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), triumphantly emerged in third place in the Central Java Safe Cosmetic Ambassador Competition, which was initiated by the Agency for Drug and Food Control (BPOM).

Richie was indeed very open to the idea of experimenting with new things. In fact, the regional competition was the first time she engaged in an ambassador selection. With the help of her lecturers, she had given her best and won third place. Upon her entrance in the grand finale, Richie competed with roughly other 32 participants.

“That was only the first time, I prepared for the competition by learning the BPOM Cosmetics. In the grand finale, every participant was given 5 minutes to convey their speeches.,” Richie uttered.

Richie, born on October 14th, 2000 in Salatiga, discussed surrounding youths and their familiarity with cosmetics. Richie said that makeup played an important role in our daily lives, both for men and women. Therefore, an awareness was necessary toward the danger of cosmetics such as chemical coloring and substances.

“As an ambassador, I will be an agent of change to spread awareness regarding cosmetics as there are still countless responsible parties misusing illegal cosmetics productions,” Richie uttered.

Upon successfully becoming a safe cosmetic ambassador in Central Java, Richie would continue her journey to compete at the national level as the representative of Central Java. Despite not expecting to be in third place, she would give her best for the upcoming national competition.

“Having learned many things from the regional competition, I will give it my all for the national competition and hopefully, I will be able to uphold Udinus’ image to the national level,” she hoped

As a clever student, Richie was active in various organizations such as being a Head of the Public Relations Division for the Student Executive of the Computer Science Faculty (BEM FIK) for the 2021-2022 period and the Vice President of Rotaract Yudhistira for the 2021-2022 period.

Richie, a student of the 2021 cohort, also grasped her hands on many accomplishments including the winner of the 2021 Econovation and the Spark Deakin’s Melbourne-Bandung Innovation Series 2021.

Richie’s passion for the communication science sector was ignited by the support of her relatives and lecturers. Richie felt that her passion was gradually honed with the support of her lecturers who pushed her to achieve even more accomplishments. Her interest in the digital marketing sector also emerged in the Communication Science Study Program, particularly in the Digital Content Management course (PKD).

“Udinus possesses many supportive, caring, and understanding lecturers, who clearly understand their students’ passions,” concluded the owner of the @soyrachie Instagram account. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Dok. Elang)
