Firda Pratiwi, an Alumna of the Public Health Study Program at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), has always dreamt of walking her career on the medical path. Currently, she is pursuing her dream job at Krakatau Steel Ltd.

 

Firda, born on October 16th, 1995 in Semarang, claimed that she wanted to be directly involved in the location so she could utilize the knowledge she obtained at Udinus. “At my workplace, I am arguably a 50% office worker and 50% field worker. The initial problem I encountered was how to socialize properly as that was the first time I left home and was dispatched to Banten which was completely different from Semarang,” she uttered.

 

Before becoming a part of the Health, Safety, and Environment Division (HSE) at Krakatau Steel Ltd., Firda embarked on her current career path during her university days at a project owned by Pertamina and supported by Honeywell Ltd. “Upon my graduation, I got the opportunity to work at an Institute dealing environmental studies for a short period of time before I eventually work at Krakatau Steel Ltd.,” uttered the owner of @firda_pr Instagram account.

 

Firda, a former member of several student organizations during her studies, was grateful to be able to gather knowledge and experience at Udinus. According to her, the gathered knowledge and experience could be implemented in her current job. “I have gathered many shards of knowledge at Udinus and arguably 75% of it could serve its purpose in my job,” she explained.

 

She also encouraged the students and her fellow alumni at Udinus to always hone their soft skills and hard skills. “Not only could you join the campus organizations, but you also could participate in many other organizations outside the campus. Additionally, your dedication to study and receive criticism as an evaluation is also crucial in adapting to jobs and coming up with new innovations,” Firda shared. (Humas Udinus/ Nuvia. Foto: Dok.
