The Dian Nuswantoro Computer Club (DNCC) at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) encouraged high school students to creatively develop apps to better the Indonesian economics. This attempt was made through the 2023 Dinus Application Competition (Dinacom).

The 2023 Dinacom employed the theme ‘The Light of Technology for the Future Economy.’ The competition was participated by dozens of teams from various high schools across the country. However, only eight of them managed to reach the final stage. At the finale, they were obliged to present their apps before the judges in the auditorium on the third floor of the E building at Udinus. Every team was given 15 minutes to present their work and another 10 minutes for Q&A session, making it 25 minutes in total.

Irfan Zidni, the Head of the Dian Nuswantoro Computer Club, stated that the 2023 Dinacom was fairly distinct compared to that of previous years. Moreover, the participants sparked even more enthusiasm than ever.

“Unlike previous years, the 2023 Dinacom was hosted offline as a part of the 2023 Dinus Festival. Not only that, our participants apparently came from many different regions in Indonesia, including Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Bekasi, Semarang, Surabaya, Malang, Kudus, and many other cities,” he explained.

Furthermore, Irfan also hoped the apps showcased at the 2023 Dinacom to benefit and inflict a big social impact on the public. Additionally, this event also served as a way to discover digital talents for the good of this country.

“We saw that their works were amazing. Their enthusiasm was probably the contributing factor to these technological wonders,” he uttered.

One of the participants from a high school named SMK Bagiku Negriku Semarang, Angga Dian Saputra, admitted that he was glad to participate in the 2023 Dinacom. According to him, the competition was remarkable and could provide a means for high school students to test their skills. “It is our first time participating in the 2023 Dinacom, and it is truly a priceless experience for us,” he concluded.
