The Accounting Student Association at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) hosted a competition encouraging the young generation to glance at global inflation issues. The competition was hosted in the form of the 2023 National Essay Competition.
The essay competition was themed ‘Digital Economic Control Steps in Resolving Inflation in Indonesia.’ There were several sub-themes the participants could choose and develop. All participants were grouped into teams consisting of two members each in this essay competition dedicated to high school students. Out of all teams participating in this event, only ten teams reached the grand finale. The grand finale itself took place on Saturday, January 21st, 2023, on the sixth floor of the I building,
Rizky Prasetya, the Head of the Committee, explained that the finalists were obliged to present their works. They give every team fifteen minutes, with six minutes to present their essays and another nine minutes for the Q&A session with the judges.
“Before the presentation, we also featured a talk show concerning the introduction to the Accounting Department. In addition, we also saw that our participants were very enthusiastic about this essay competition,” he added.
Through the 2023 National Essay Competition, the participants were expected to be motivated to handle the economic issues. Moreover, Rizky also hoped for the participants to hone their critical thinking skills in responding to the occurring problems, particularly in the field of economics.
“Hopefully, these works of essay can be a thinking foundation in the near future and serve as a solution for the currently occurring economic issues,” he concluded.
The 2023 National Essay Competition was part of a bigger event named the 2023 Dinus Festival (Dinusfest). The Dinusfest is an annual event hosted by Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus). In 2023, this festival saw an increase in participants as it reached 5124 students participating in this event.
