The Music Unit at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) hosted a music competition at the 2023 Dinus Festival (Dinusfest). At the competition, several high school bands were seen showcasing their musical talents on stage.
The event, entitled the Music Cover Competition, featured 16 bands, and each band performed two songs. Those two songs consisted of a traditional song and a song chosen by the participating bands. The event took place in the auditorium on the third floor of the E building on Thursday, January 26th, 2023.
Mayrendra Dharmawan S., the head of the committee, explained that every band was allowed to use their arrangement of the songs. According to Mayrendra, this event served as a means for high school students to pursue and enhance their musical talents to their maximum capacity.
“We allowed the participants to choose one song to be presented on stage. Upon watching them performing, we could see that they have given their best possible performances,” Mayrendra explained.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Supriadi Rustad, M.Si., the Vice Chancellor I of Academic Affairs, also warmly welcomed the 2023 Dinusfest. This festival served as a platform for students to build their character in the field of sports, arts, and scientific papers.
“Through this festival, we would like to present a means for students to unleash their creativity in fair competitions. Thus, students will not only gather knowledge but also character and strength,” he concluded.
“We will grant scholarships and funds to the victors participating in our competitions, which in total consisted of 63 contests. These scholarships can lead those students to continue their studies here at Udinus. At the closing ceremony on September 29th, 2023, there will also be a guest star dedicated to the interns.
