The Directorate of Teacher, Principal, and Teaching Staff (KSPSTK) implemented online courses under the name of Platform Merdeka Mengajar (PMM) alongside The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbud Ristek). KSPSTK and Kemdikbud also accompanied the Film and Television Major from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro to participate in their program. The Film and Television Major from the Computer Science Faculty of Udinus would also be involved in producing dozens of self-management microlearning Type III videos.

The microlearning video production was marked by the agreement between KSPTSK, Kemdikbud Ristek, and the Film and Television Major of Udinus which took place in Jakarta at the beginning of last June. The Head of the Film and Television Major of Udinus, Dr. Ruri Suko Basuki, M.Kom was the representative from Udinus in that agreement. The Film and Television Major would later produce twenty-two type 1 Videos (Talking Head + Illustration), twelve type 2 videos (Illustration + Motion Graphics) dan seventeen type 2 videos (Topic Introduction).

PMM itself is a platform produced by Kemdikbud Ristek, and it will be a good tool for the teachers to realize the Pelajar Pancasila Program with Study, Teach, and Work features inside the platform. That educational platform provides teachers with various references to develop the teaching practice suitable to the “Merdeka” Curriculum. At the moment, KSPSTK needs roughly 900 videos.

In his interview, The head of the Film and Television Study Program at Udinus, Dr. Ruri Suko Basuki, M.Kom, said that the involvement of the major in implementing online learning using PMM was offered by KSPSTK Directorate. That offer was granted to private universities with Film and Television or Visual Communication Design majors.

“We, from the Film and Television Major, are proud to have been chosen among the 12 private universities. Out of the 12, only 7 private universities managed to succeed and one of those is our university,” he said in his interview.

He further explained that the output of this implementation would be in the form of videos with High-Definition (HD) quality. These outputs would be uploaded to the PMM. Principals, school supervisors, and teachers across the nation would be able to access and make these videos as their teaching materials.

“We will produce 22 videos with a contract value of Rp.780 million. Meanwhile, the production may take time around 6 months,” he said. (Humas Udinus/Alex. Foto: Humas Udinus)
